Composition

L-ornithine-L-aspartate · · · · · · 5g 
D-sorbitol · · · · · · 1g

 Indication

For the intensive treatment of severe acute and chronic liver diseases such as liver cirrhosia, fatty liver, hepatitis-with hyperammoniasemia - especially for the treatment of incipient disturbance of consciousness (pre-coma) or clouding of consciousness (coma)

 Dosage & Administration

In acute inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) 1~2 ampoules daily; in chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis 2~4 ampoules daily. In severe cases the dosage may be increased without risk. With incipient disturbance of consciousness (pre-coma) and clouding of consciousness (coma) up to 20 ampoules during the first day, depending on the severity of the condition.The following scheme of treatment has proved satisfactory : 8 ampoules within 6 hours, followed by 3 times 4 ampoules within 6 hours. Hepa-Merz may be added to all conventional infusion solution. However, for reasons of venous tolerance the dose should not exceed 6 ampoules per 500 mL infusion.
