• Composition
• One ampoule contains : 
  Active ingredient : Somatostatin acetate · · · · · · 3.5mg 
  (3.0mg as somatostatin)
•  
•  Indication
• * Severe acute gastroduodenal ulcer bleeding 
  * Severe acute bleeing in acute erosive or haemorrhagic gastritis 
  * Adjuvant treatment for the inhibition of secretion of postoperative pancreatic and duodenal ulcer.

•  Dosage & Administration
• * At the beginning of the therapies, a single priming dose of 3.5㎍ Somatostatin/kg body weight, dissolved in 2mL of isotonic, sterile, pyrogen-free saline, is administered slowly for one minute as i.v. injection. (E.g. for a patient weighing 75kg, 250㎍) 
  * Thereafter, 3.5㎍ Somatostatin/kg/hour is administered after preparing it as follows. (E.g. for a patient weighing 75kg, the content of one ampoule Somatostatin 3mg, dry substance, for an infusion duration of 12 hours) 
  * As an i.v. drip infusion, dissolved in 500mL of isotonic, sterile, pyrogen-free saline. 
  * As infusion by perfusor dissolved in 36ml of isotonic, sterile, pyrogen-free saline and filled into a 50mL perfusor syringe. 
  * The perfusor is adjusted to an infusion rate of 3mL/hour. 
  * Duration of treatment ; In general, no longer than 5 days. As adjuvant treatment for the inhibition of secretion of postoperative pancreatic and duodenal fistulae no longer than 14 days, in individual cases up to 25 days. Repeated treatment should be avoided as the risk of sensibilization cannot be excluded.
