Piston
The pistons transfer the energy from the high temperature and pressure to the connecting rods, and it is one of the most important component which is transferring heat energy into kinetic energy. Piston rings provide the seal between the pistons and the cylinder liners to maintain the explosive energy and control lubricating oil. In the 2-stroke engine, crosshead pistons are used, while trunk pistons are used in 4-stroke engines.
