Filter Unit

The ballast water enters through the inlet pipe into the filter and flows through the cylindrical filter element from inside out. The filtration cake accumulating on the element surface causes pressure difference to develop across the filter element. The back-flushing begins when the pre-set pressure difference between inlet and outlet on the filter is reached or pre-determined lapse of time is met. During the back-flushing cycle, the filtering is not interrupted and continues to flow downstream of the filter in the normal manner.

UV Unit

Using UV light to disinfect water is a proven technology. This safe and effective physical disinfectant is suitable for both large and small applications. UV?s proven technology uses nothing but ultraviolet light to inactivate bacteria, viruses and other organisms that are present in the ballast water. The UV unit is easy to operate and needs no expensive and potentially hazardous chemicals. UV light, which continues to be reliable means of disinfection, involves exposing ballast water to irradiation from UV light. The treatment works properly because UV light penetrates an organism?s cell walls and disrupts its genetic material, making reproduction impossible. In addition, PANASIA?s GloEn-Patrol? received ATEX certificate for explosion proof type so that the installation in hazardous area is possible.

Control Panel

The monitoring & control panel is PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based and configured to activate and deactivate UV lamps via UV power supply units In order to maintain the sufficient UV dose while conserving power. The monitoring & control panel offers a real time monitoring of the status of system operation while logging the data required by the convention at the same time.

Power Supply Panel

The major function of UV Power Supply Panel is to operate the medium pressure lamps inside the UV chamber. It controls the strength of the UV lamp with the capacitors mounted on the Panel. Also It detects whether the UV lamps are functioning properly or not. The temperature sensor is mounted inside to monitor the temperature in order to give an alarm to an operator and shut down the system in case of emergency.
