Introduction
Self Exciting Synchronuous Generator with Heterology Magnetic Pole Exciter
- Exciter field is a mixture of a magnetic pole that is pure permanent magnetic (PM hereinafter) and an exciter winding, and the magnetic flux generated by PM pole creates unloading rated voltage without support from Automatic Voltage Regulator(AVR hereinafter) thereby provides better credibility compared to previous exciter system.
- DC-DC converter applied at the AVR output makes it feasible to reversibly response in both forward and backward to the current and voltage that are applied to the field winding of exciter.
- IGBT is applied as a power module to AVR output, thereby it can operate in a high switching frequency so as to bring fast responsiveness and high credibility on the responses to the load change, and that may minimize the abrupt increase and decrease of voltage that occur in the case of transient deviation by input or cutting of large load.
