Al-Mg series alloy that has high contains of Mg out of Aluminum alloys for die casting should be used for the Endplate aluminum part for the nickel-hydride battery as it requires impact resistance and high toughness. And the safety cover to prevent explosion is very difficult to form in die casting method as the structure has many Ribs of 6 mm installed on the shape of wide plate that play the role of middle reinforcement. Current Al-Mg Alloy created a big problem in producing of good quality part because the defect of contraction, defect of casting such as non-forming etc. and die burning are generated during the manufacturing of the product in die casting method. Our company developed a safety cover aluminum die casting part to prevent explosion of eco-friendly nickel-hydride battery for car through the adjustment of alloy components, flow analysis by computer, optimum mold plan, and casting plan design.
